What we publish for the NHL
NHL picks on the public ledger are moneylines, posted on the morning of game day at the number available then. Every one carries its own timestamp on the public ledger before the puck drops.
Our NHL picks begin with the 2026-27 regular season, which opened in October. Not every night has one, and that is on purpose: a pick only goes out when the slate in front of us calls for one.
How the NHL research was done
The NHL work started from the same place as every sport on this site: five seasons of real games and real prices, every game graded at the number that was actually available, and every idea checked season by season with the bad years in view.
Most of what we tested did not survive, and it is not here. The research carries on through the season, and anything new earns its place the same way.
How to read an NHL pick
A moneyline pick names a team, like Boston ML, and it wins if that team wins the game. Overtime and the shootout count, so a game decided after regulation is settled on who won it.
The price beside a moneyline is the market's own read on that team's chances, and every pick is graded at the price it was published at.
How NHL picks are graded
Each pick is graded from the official final result, overtime and shootout included. The result is written to the ledger next to the original pick, wins and losses in the same font size.
Why the record can be trusted
Every ledger entry carries a cryptographic hash of the one before it. Change any past pick or result and the chain visibly breaks, and the database refuses edits and deletions outright. That verifiable record is the only thing we ask to be judged on.
Questions
Are your NHL picks free?
Creating an account is free, and every settled NHL pick stays on the public ledger for anyone to check. NHL picks still to play come with the NHL ledger plan; see the plans page.
When do NHL picks start?
With the 2026-27 regular season, which opened in October. Preseason and playoff games are not part of it.
When are NHL picks posted?
On the morning of game day, before the puck drops. Every one is timestamped to the public ledger first.
Which NHL markets do you cover?
Moneylines on the public ledger. The research desk's own NHL positions run inside Advanced Strategies, and a few of those are posted later in the day, still before the game starts.
Does overtime count?
Yes. A moneyline pick is settled on who wins the game, so overtime and the shootout both count.
How do I know your NHL record is real?
Every pick is written to a public, hash-chained ledger before it plays and settled in the open afterward, wins and losses in the same font size. You can verify the entire record yourself.
Check the public NHL record first. The picks still to play are on the NHL ledger plan, and the settled record stays free for everyone.
