Advanced Strategies, explained

The research desk's own book. Every position it takes, the price it took, and the settled record, across every sport we cover.

What is on the tab

Positions

Every position the desk takes, as it is struck: the game, the call, the price taken and when. Some post days ahead, some on the morning of the game, and some are made during play, at the break or late in the game, and are alerted the moment they are struck.

Parlays

Doubles and trebles built from the day's positions, each with its own settled record. A ticket pays the product of its legs' prices; one losing leg loses the ticket. Tickets are kept short on purpose: the record shows why.

The chain

Every position and every result is hashed to its own chain, the same way as the public ledger. A settled position becomes public history the next day, so anyone can check the desk's record without a seat.

Alerts

Email and push the moment a position is struck, and again when a ticket is built. Alerts follow the seat; turn each channel on or off under your account.

The sports

Every sport, one seat. NFL, college football (FBS and FCS), MLB, NBA, NHL, college basketball, MLS and WNBA, in season. Some sports only run here: FCS, MLS and WNBA positions are Advanced only, with their settled records public.

Pregame and in play. Most positions post before the game, from days ahead to the morning of. Some are made during the game, at the break or late on, and those go out the moment they are struck; a position made during play says so.

Withdrawn in the open. A position the desk pulls before the game stays on the record, crossed out, with the reason beside it. Nothing is deleted.

Questions

How is Advanced different from the ledger?

The ledger is the public book: picks judged on hit rate, one sport per plan, published before they play and graded in public. Advanced is the research desk's own book: positions judged on return, every sport at once, the price taken shown beside each one. The two books can take different sides of the same game, and sometimes do.

Why is the price shown here and not on the ledger?

Because Advanced is judged on return, and return only means something at a stated price. Each position carries the price it was struck at, and the record is computed from those prices, not from a flat assumption.

What does it cost?

One seat covers every sport and renews weekly, on the day you started. Cancel any time from your account under Manage billing; you keep access to the end of the week you paid for. The settled record is free for everyone the day after each game.

Do you explain why a position was taken?

No. The desk publishes the call, the price and the result. How a position was found stays with the desk; the record is the argument.
