PeoplesPicks Outlook, Oct. 13, 2026: Two C-USA Games on a Thin Tuesday

Research confirms two FBS games tonight, both in Conference USA. Our three posted calls today are NBA and NHL, settling on the public ledger.

Tuesday, October 13 is a narrow football card. Our slate feed lists 62 college games, 15 NFL games and 59 FCS games, but live research confirms only two FBS games today, both in Conference USA, and finds no NFL or FCS game scheduled. When the feed and the verified schedule disagree, we go with what we can verify. The rest of the listed matchups are not treated as today's games in this outlook.

Our three posted calls today are outside football and are already on the public ledger:

- NBA: Indiana Pacers +10.5 (Indiana Pacers @ Oklahoma City Thunder) - NBA: Sacramento Kings +3.5 (Portland Trail Blazers @ Sacramento Kings) - NHL: Montréal Canadiens ML (Buffalo Sabres @ Montréal Canadiens)

Each settles on the public, tamper-evident ledger, win or lose. We have not posted a call on either football game tonight, and no model probability, market price or edge is published for them here.

College Football

Delaware Blue Hens @ Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders (7 p.m. ET, CBSSN)

The numbers are symmetrical: both teams are 2-3 overall, 0-1 in conference, and both have lost two straight. Middle Tennessee's most recent result was a 23-13 road loss at Jacksonville State on Sept. 26, which also means the Blue Raiders arrive with extra time since their last game.

The asymmetry is health. Previews describe Middle Tennessee as fully healthy, while Delaware carries uncertainty at quarterback. We could not confirm who starts for the Blue Hens. The market has moved toward the Blue Raiders: the spread opened Delaware -2.5 on Sunday and now sits at 1. A 1.5-point move off an unresolved quarterback situation is consistent with the market pricing in a downgrade, but without a confirmed starter, the size of that downgrade is unknown. That is the main reason we have no posted call here.

Florida International Panthers @ Jacksonville State Gamecocks (8 p.m. ET, ESPNU)

This is the conference-relevant game. Jacksonville State sits second in C-USA at 2-0; FIU sits third at 1-0. The Gamecocks have won four straight, most recently 27-26 at Kennesaw State on Oct. 7, after earlier losses to North Dakota State and Ohio (in four overtimes). One source lists them at 4-1, but their posted schedule shows 4-2. We treat the record as unresolved and do not lean on it.

FIU is 3-2 and has won two in a row, including a 22-3 win over New Mexico State on Wednesday. That date matters: it puts FIU on a short week against a Jacksonville State team last seen on Oct. 7.

The central split is home and road. FIU is 3-0 at Pitbull Stadium and 0-2 away, scoring 9 points at South Florida and 10 at Florida Atlantic. Two road games is a small sample, and both opponents differ from tonight's, so we read it as a flag, not a conclusion. Jacksonville State is favored by about 3 with a 43.5 total. FIU has never won a C-USA championship, and a road win tonight would materially improve its position in the standings.

What a sharp model weighs in games like these, in general terms:

- Quarterback certainty. A late or unconfirmed starter widens the range of outcomes more than most single inputs. - Rest and scheduling. Short weeks against rested opponents, especially on the road. - Venue splits, discounted for sample size. Two road games carry real but limited information. - Data conflicts. When sources disagree on a basic fact, such as a team's record, the model should carry that uncertainty rather than pick a side. - Market movement. Line moves are information about what others know, not proof of value.

NFL

Our slate feed lists 15 NFL matchups, including Chicago @ Green Bay, San Francisco @ Seattle and Buffalo @ Los Angeles Rams. Live research found no NFL game scheduled for Tuesday, October 13. We are not publishing analysis on games we cannot confirm are on today's schedule, and we have no posted NFL calls today.

FCS

The feed lists 59 FCS games, including South Dakota State @ North Dakota and McNeese @ Northwestern State. Research found no FCS game today. Two listed entries, Charleston Southern @ Clemson and The Citadel @ Texas A&M, also appear on the college list, which is a further sign the feed does not reflect tonight's card. No FCS calls are posted.

For tonight, the verified football is two C-USA games, and our posted record for the day rests on the two NBA calls and one NHL call above. All three settle publicly on the ledger, including any losses.
