Today's card is defined less by talent than by absence. Across the NFL slate, several starting quarterbacks, running backs and cornerbacks are out or uncertain, and in a sport where one position can move a number by several points, availability is the main input today. The college and FCS boards listed for this date were played on Saturday, and we could not verify those results, so this outlook concentrates on the 15 NFL games. Five calls are already on our public ledger today: three outside football (MLB: Under 6.5, Dodgers at Brewers; NBA: Bucks +4.5 at Hornets; NBA: Bulls +9.5 at Nuggets) and two in the NFL, covered below.
College Football
The college board lists 58 games, including Texas at Oklahoma, Georgia at Alabama, Florida State at Louisville, Iowa at Washington, Tennessee at Arkansas, Ole Miss at Vanderbilt and UCLA at Oregon. These games were played Saturday. We could not verify final scores, and our sources did not agree on team records, so we are not reporting outcomes or records here. We have no college football calls posted for today. Any results will be reflected only once they can be confirmed.
When the model evaluates a college slate, it weighs efficiency measured on a per-play basis rather than raw yardage, adjusts for opponent strength, accounts for roster continuity and quarterback availability, and applies a home-field value that varies by venue. In conference rivalry games such as Texas at Oklahoma, it also discounts narrative and relies on measured play-level data.
FCS
The FCS board lists 51 games. Notable listings include Harvard at Cornell, Dartmouth at Yale, Samford at Chattanooga, Southern Illinois at South Dakota, Youngstown State at Indiana State, Princeton at Wagner and Florida A&M at Alabama State. Like the FBS slate, these games were played Saturday and could not be verified, so we are not reporting results. No FCS calls are posted today.
FCS markets tend to have thinner information. That cuts both ways. Mispricings can be larger, and the model's own uncertainty is also larger. For that reason, the model applies wider error bands on these games and requires a larger estimated edge before it publishes a pick.
NFL
Eagles at Jaguars (London). Philadelphia has six players inactive, and five of them were ruled out with injury on Friday. The list includes outside linebacker Jonathan Greenard (ankle), running backs Saquon Barkley and Tank Bigsby, and wide receivers DeVonta Smith and Hollywood Brown. Tight end Dallas Goedert and linebacker Zack Baun are set to return. For Jacksonville, Murray (concussion) is inactive. The model treats losses at both running back and wide receiver as meaningful to offensive efficiency, partly offset by Goedert's return. A neutral site also removes the usual home-field adjustment.
Bears at Packers. Caleb Williams (hamstring) is listed as questionable but is not expected to play. He is reportedly pushing to return the following week. Our posted call is CHI +2.5. This call is exposed to quarterback risk. If the backup's performance falls short of what the model assumed, the pick loses. We are stating that risk plainly.
Broncos at Chargers. Our posted call is DEN -3. A three-point line sits on the most common NFL margin, so a three-point Denver win settles as a push rather than a win. A one- or two-point Denver win, or any Denver loss, settles as a loss.
Ravens at Falcons. Lamar Jackson (ankle) is ruled out, with a reported "real chance" to return next week against Cleveland. For Atlanta, Smith (concussion/neck) has been downgraded to out, and Matthews (groin) is questionable. With absences on both sides, any number on this game should be treated with caution. We have no call posted.
Vikings at Saints. Addison (hamstring) and Justin Jefferson (ankle) will both go through pregame workouts before Minnesota decides on availability. Because a decision this late can move the market after any number is posted, the model holds off on a pick until the status is confirmed.
Raiders at Patriots. New England will honor Adam Vinatieri at halftime. More relevant to the model, the Patriots will be down six players, including starting corners Christian Gonzalez (shoulder) and Carlton Davis III (neck). Losing both starting outside corners is the kind of absence that changes the model's projection for the passing game.
The rest of the slate includes 49ers at Seahawks, Bills at Rams, Lions at Cardinals, Bengals at Dolphins, Colts at Steelers, Buccaneers at Cowboys, Texans at Titans, Browns at Jets and Giants at Commanders. We have no calls posted on these games.
What the model weighs. In general terms, the model estimates each team's efficiency, adjusts it for confirmed availability, weights quarterback status most heavily, and then compares its own projected probability with the market number. A pick is published only when the gap between the two clears a set threshold. The model probabilities, market prices and edges for today's posted calls were not included in this briefing, so we are not quoting them here rather than estimating them.
Every call settles on our public, tamper-evident ledger, including wins, losses and pushes. Our record is visible there in full, with no entries removed after the fact.
