The slate for 2026-08-12 carried four predictions, one in MLB and three in the WNBA. All four settled correct. That is a clean day, and it reads as one, but the margins varied, and the day deserves the same plain accounting a losing day would receive.
The board
- MLB, LAD ML in KC @ LAD (model 82%). The Dodgers held serve at home and closed out the win. This was the only pick on the day carrying a model probability, and it landed on the higher-confidence side of the number. - WNBA, TOR +10 in TOR @ DAL (line 10). Toronto covered the cushion, with the result landing at -6 relative to the number. The margin sat inside the buffer, so the pick cleared without needing a close finish. - WNBA, Portland Fire +13.5 in Minnesota Lynx @ Portland Fire (line 13.5). Portland covered, settling at -4 against the number. This was the tightest cushion-to-result read on the board, and the result cleared it with room. - WNBA, GSV -10 in CHI @ GSV (line -10). Golden State Valkyries covered the double-digit number, finishing at 20 relative to the line. This was the most comfortable margin of the four.
What the model saw
Only the LAD line carried a published model probability, 82%, so it is the only pick where a model-versus-market read can be stated honestly. The model priced the Dodgers as strong home favorites and the game confirmed that read. The three WNBA picks were posted without a model percentage and are recorded here as line-based selections, not model-derived probabilities. We flag that distinction rather than paper over it: three of the four correct calls did not carry a stated model edge, and we will not retroactively assign one.
A 4-for-4 day is a good day, and we will not diminish it. It is also a small sample, and one clean slate does not change the honest uncertainty around any single future pick. Cushions on the WNBA lines cleared by 4, 6, and 20 relative to their numbers, so two of the three had real room and one, Portland at -4 against 13.5, was closer to the number than the final margin alone suggests.
Every line above, the numbers, the finals, and the settlement, sits on the public, tamper-evident ledger. Read it, check it against this page, and hold the record to what it actually says.
